In this 3h walking tour, you’ll visit 10 different spots (Ipanema and Copacabana), such as bars, beaches and also passing by the places where the Bossa Nova music was written, played and composed. Our tour guide is an all-in-one professional as he’s also a musican and singer, playing the guitar and some other instruments along the way.
You’ll get to know all about Bossa Nova, how and where it started, who were the main composers and performers, like Tom Jobim, Vinícius de Moraes, João Gilberto and others. Walking by this circuit in Ipanema and Copacabana our team will reveal all the secrets and the main events behind this music style that is Rio’s trademark.
Walk by the same streets where the Girl from Ipanema walked and in the words of our tour guide’s help, let your mind feel Rio’s cultural atmosphere of the 50s-60s, when the Bossa Nova lived its golden years and most glamorous times.

– Starting from a meeting point: metro station Praça Nossa Senhora da Paz (square) – in front of exit A
We’ll start walking from Ipanema, going to Copacabana and then walk back to Ipanema, making a circuit (loop)
– Finishing at Vinicius de Moraes street, approx. 1 block away from the starting point.

Included: approx. 3h walking tour with certified guide-musician (English/Spanish/Portuguese), starting from a meeting point at Ipanema.
NOT included: transport, food/drinks.
Wear: comfortable shoes and clothes, according to the current weather, as we will walk for about 3h.
Take: please also take a hat, sun lotion and a bottle of water.
- Before we start walking from our meeting point, there’s a briefing and an introduction that takes about 20 min. Even though, when you confirm your booking you’ll get detailed directions of our route so you can try to join us on the way if you’re more than 20 min. late.
- In case of rain, the tour can be rescheduled without any cost for you but the rescheduling depends on availability. In case we do not agree with another date you’ll be refunded.
